About Me

Like most people, I don’t just do one thing, I do many!

As a clinical and community herbalist, I work with clients through an harm reduction and educational framework to help them achieve their health based goals. The herbal medicine I provide is locally wild crafted and hand made. See more in the Bright Moon Botanicals link

I also love sharing my skills and knowledge through hands-on work shops and classes for both kids and adults. Salix School is an ongoing nature school for kids that I run and Wild Wanderings is the way I offer nature connection to adults. See more in the education link

One way I deepen my relationship with nature is through drawing. Check out my botanical and nature based illustrations here.

I am excited to share my new book that has just been published all about plants. Check it out here.

When I am not seeing clients, harvesting plants, making medicine, or teaching, I am working as a paramedic, playing in my garden, wandering in the wild world or spending time with my wonderful daughter and our dog.

My family and I benefit greatly from living on the stolen lands of the K’omox, Pentlatch, Qualicum, Homalco, Klahoose, Shishalh, Tla’amin, We Wai Kai, and We wai Kum people. I strive to undo colonialism in my personal life, in the community and on the land, while honouring all those who came before us and all those who will come after us.

What I’ve done…

My past work has included clinical practice at the BC Compassion Club Wellness Center in Vancouver. There I worked with clients who struggled with chronic illness, mental health challenges and complex health pictures. I also helped with the instigation and co-creation a pay-what-you-can herbal clinic at the Victoria Friendship Center. I have lead many workshops on herbal medicine including plant identification walks, ethical wild crafting, herbal first aid, local healing plants and anti-colonial approaches to wellness. I also co-facilitated the West Coast Rad Herb gatherings. My work continues within my community offering holistic health consultations, wellness counseling and educational workshops. I offer consultations by phone, or in person at my clinic or in your home.
